Through it all, and again in a Vietnam-like manner, Afghanistan was not so much a 20-year war for America, as a one-year war fought 20 times by a corps of officers, senior non-commissioned officers and civilian government personnel and contractors who made careers out of it.

“It Failed Miserably” – What If the US Lost a War and Nobody Noticed?

Three years of my life were spent in these most recent conflicts and this statement – much like my own as I sweated profusely or shivered uncontrollably in either Iraq or Afghanistan – resonates almost verbatim to my own profanity-laced observations.

I don’t want to be right where I saw (and see) this all going.

I hope beyond all belief and ability that both Bryon King and myself – as well as any other rational folks who have been paying attention – are proven so entirely and completely wrong…

However, the lurking suspicion is that the level of error might just be in how bad it can be.
