How do Deists normally act toward people of other beliefs?

Posted 2Sep2017.

One of the most important moments I have ever had when it comes to the topic of faith was when I came across Robert Fulghum’s Uh-Oh – Some Observations from Both Sides of the Refrigerator Door. Three pages – from 135 through 138 – made so much sense, and is relevant to the topic of how I view other faiths and belief structures.

Fulghum wrote about how an Indian hydrology professor described faith (or lack of it) to water – a basic and undeniable part of human existence. I carried that a bit more to include the fact that sharing water, while an act of charity to those in need, is sometimes unwanted – like a bratty 9-year-old with a Super Soaker. So, I will not squirt you with my water, as I would prefer you not to do the same with yours. We can enjoy our water how we see fit… with I actually just might – in solid form and slowly cooling a bit of peated Scotch.
